131: The Tales of an Unlikely Inmate

131: The Tales of an Unlikely Inmate

On this episode, we’re joined by an Ivy League educated attorney who discusses how his stint in one of the most infamous prisons in America has changed his perspectives on crime and society.

It's a credible discussion regarding a system that is in dire need of reform, but perhaps not in the manner often promoted by the more extreme factions of our society and government.

Wayne is a father, attorney, essayist, autodidact, and active manager

I’m a business and legal professional with more than 20 years' experience helping organizations succeed through smarter management of complex processes, information, and relationships. I'm currently working as an independent consultant, providing research and legal writing services to a range of clients.

In a six-year role as a foreign legal consultant, advising multinationals on expanding their business operations into Asia. I also spent several years as a director at Accenture during its spin-out from Andersen Worldwide, managing Accenture’s global legal structure of over 240 legal entities operating 48 countries. I ultimately landed in the Silicon Valley startup world, helping companies establish business operations, sign new partners, find new revenue opportunities, and raise money.

I was involved in a fatal drunk driving accident and served time in San Quentin prison. This challenging and life-changing experience caused me to reassess my goals and purpose in life. I’m now eager to apply my considerable business and legal background, as well as my new perspectives on people and communities in crisis, to help philanthropic organizations succeed in their missions.

My “superpower” is uncovering and understanding what organizations need to grow and thrive, and then developing systems, communications, and processes that help them move the ball forward for their constituents. I’m open to consulting projects and part-time or full-time roles. Let’s talk!
